Social forestry dept holds plantation drive held in Pampore

Pulwama: A plantation drive was held in Galandar area of Pampore in South Kashmir on Saturday, which was attended by the officials of Social forestry, BDCs, Sarpanchs, Panchs and other representatives.

The drive was conducted under the supervision of Director Social Forestry Jammu and Kashmir, Roshan Jaggi, while Regional director social forestry Kashmir, Mehraj Ud Din Malik, and DFO Pulwama, Manzoor Ahmad were also present.

During the drive, scores of saplings of different species were planted around the Birla Minds International School.

Talking to media, Director Social Forestry, J&K, Roshan Jaggi has said that they usually conduct plantation drives in Dec, Jan, Feb and March months.

He said that department has involved PRIs this time to spread a positive message among the people, pertaining to plantation.

Jaggi further said that such drives would be conducted in other places of Jammu & Kashmir in future as well.
