Police in Anantnag Recover 2800 Codeine Bottles Accused Arrested

Anantnag, March 17: Continuing its effort in order to eradicate the drug menace and its illicit trade in the district, Anantnag police today on receipt of credible information that Subzar Ahmad of Tulkhan, Bijbehara has indulged in the illicit trade of drugs and has dumped a huge quality of Narcotic and Psychotropic substances in his residential house.

Case No.50/2021 U/S 21/22 NDPS Act got Registered in police station Bijbehara and investigation taken up. A raid was conducted by police Bijbehara in the presence of former Magistrate Bijbehara, huge quality of illegally procured drugs was recorded from a plastic tank hidden inside the courtyard of said house.

Welcyrex Cough syrup containing Codeine phosphate 2800 Bottles was seized by Anantnag police.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making continuous efforts to keep society free from the scourge of the drug menace.

In the year 2020 in its drive against drug menace, Anantnag police has registered 101 cases under NDPS Act out of which act 38 NDPS cases were registered under NDPS Act at a police station in Bijbehara.

This year 06 cases of the NDPS Act Stands registered against 7 drug peddlers.
