Al Umar Mujahideen claims responsibility of Chanapora militant attack
Srinagar: Al-Umar Mujahideen has claimed responsibility of attack on Police Post Chanapora in Srinagar district.
A local news agency reported that Al-Umar Mujahideen chief Mushtaq Zargar said that its cadres carried out the attack on the Police Post Chanapora.
He claimed that the cadres after carrying out the attack reached their destinations safely.
One policeman, Constable Feroz Ahmad, was injured critically in the militant attack.
According to a police officer, the injured cop was taken to Army’s 92 base hospital, Badamibagh for treatment.
“Standoff fire on Police Post Chanapora. The fire was retaliated. One policeman was injured and has been shifted to hospital,” a police spokesman said, adding that area is under cordon and searches are going on.
