Don’t allow them to enter into house: Speaker after BJP MLAs marshalled out
Party legislators stage walk out
Srinagar, Nov 08: Tensions ran high in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Friday when a group of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators was marshalled out after attempting to storm the well of the House to demand the rollback of a resolution on special status.
The disruption occurred during a speech by National Conference (NC) MLA Javid Beg. Amid loud sloganeering, around 12 BJP MLAs moved into the well of the House, prompting intervention from the Speaker, Abdur Rahim Rather, who directed marshalls to escort them out and prevent their re-entry.
In a show of solidarity, the remaining 11 BJP MLAs staged a walkout in protest, further highlighting the party’s dissent on the issue of special status for Jammu and Kashmir.
