SMVDU NCC Cadets Undertake Educational Visit to Air Force Station Jammu

NCC Unit of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, organized an educational visit to AirForce Station Jammu for NCC cadets with the objective of providing them first-hand exposure to the functioning, operations and various career opportunities in the Indian Air Force. During the visit, the NCC cadets were hosted by Air Force officials and were given an opportunity to visit and interact with personnel from various units and branches. The cadets visited the Air Traffic Control (ATC) unit, Special Forces unit, Helicopter unit and Education Branch. The officials briefed the cadets about the roles and responsibilities of these units, operational procedures, training, equipment and the diverse career opportunities available in the Indian Air Force. The visit was coordinated by Lieut. (Dr.) Varun Dutta, NCC Coordinator, SMVDU. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that educational visits to defence establishments are essential for youth as they provide them with an opportunity to experience and learn about the functioning of the defence services firsthand. He further highlighted that such visits help develop awareness, discipline, confidence and a sense of service among NCC cadets, while motivating them to consider a career in the Armed Forces. Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, and Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Registrar, SMVDU, conveyed their best wishes to the NCC Unit and the participating cadets for the educational visit. They appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of providing students with opportunities for experiential learning and exposure to the nation’s defence services.
