Will review AFSPA,disturbed area act,dialogue without pre-conditions in J&K:Congress releases manifesto
Congress released its manifesto on Tuesday ,ahead of the Lok Sabha elections that promises the reduction of CAPF and Army in the Valley, reviewing of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA)and dialogue the only means to follow the aspirations of the people of three regions of J&K.
The party in its manifesto also said, “the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act and the Disturbed Areas Act in J&K will be reviewed. Suitable changes will be made in the text of the laws to balance the requirements of security and the protection of human rights,” it added.
It further reads , ‘Jammu & Kashmir and its problems deserve a large-hearted approach that will eschew muscular militarism and legalistic formulations and look for an innovative federal solution.
Congress also promises to find such solution through patient dialogue and talks with all its stakeholders in the State’.
‘Congress further promises the people of J&K that talks without pre-conditions will be initiated,for that , three interlocutors will be appointed from civil society to facilitate such talks ,it reads.
