Tweet attributed to SAS Geelani fake, action being taken against rumour mongers: Police
The Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday said that the Tweet attributed to Syed Ali Shah Geelani was fake and issued by someone from Pakistan.
An official said that Budgam police have taken cognizance of the matter and have registered a case under relevant sections of ULA(P) act at police station Budgam.
He said that as per the family sources of SAS Geelani, the Tweet attributed to him was fake and issued by someone from Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Budgam police in a Tweet said: “As per family sources of SAS Geelani,the tweet is fake and issued by someone from Pakistan.Police is taking action against those who are circulating it to instigate violence. Case FIR under relevant sections of ULA(P)stands registered in Police station Budgam.”
