Tral: People suffer with unscheduled power cuts, water scarcity in Aripal Tehsil

Tral, 8 Dec: The residents of Aripal tehsil in Tral sub district of South Kashmir are up in arms against authorities over unscheduled power cuts and water scarcity in the area.
The aggrieved residents told Arising State that they have been facing unscheduled power cuts these days, due to which they face hardships.
One of the residents said that Power Development Department (PDD) officials can conduct inspections in the area, but should also ensure better power supply.
Another resident, Khazir Mohammad Sheikh from Dar Ganie Gund area of Aripal has said that they “live in the area, which is full of water sources, but are suffering from water scarcity.”
He said that “Lurgam-Dar Ganiegund scheme was approved in 2016, but is yet to be completed for the public convenience.”
“I met many officials and apprised them about the water scarcity in the area, but no step is being taken to redress our issue,” Khazir Mohammad said.
He added that power receiving station was also approved for Aripal tehsil, which is yet to be constructed.
DDC member Aripal, Manzoor Ganie told Arising State that he along with other PRIs have already contributed funds to PDD and PHE for public conveniences.
He said that power and water issues will be redressed at tehsil Aripal in a next few days.
