Three Terrorists Killed in Encounter in Akhnoor, Jammu
Jammu, Oct 28 : Three terrorists were killed in an intense encounter in Jammu’s Akhnoor area early this morning, following an attack on an Army vehicle near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jogwan. The terrorists opened fire around 7 a.m., prompting security forces to launch a major search operation. Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported in the initial assault on the Army vehicle.
Security forces soon established contact with the hiding terrorists, leading to a fierce gunfight, resulting in the neutralization of three militants. Operations in the area are ongoing, officials said.
The encounter comes amid heightened security in Jammu’s border districts, including Kathua, Samba, Poonch, and Rajouri. A high alert was issued following recent terror incidents in Ganderbal and Baramulla. A security meeting chaired by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu, Anand Jain, underscored the need for vigilance in these vulnerable districts.
