Man Injured in Bear Attack in Tral, Evacuated for Treatment; Bear Spotted in Check Awantipora
Tral, June 12: A 50-year-old man was seriously injured in a wild bear attack in the forest area of Naristan Aripal, Tral, on Thursday. The victim, identified as Mohd Afzal Gojer, son of Noor ud Din Gojer and a resident of Naristan Aripal, was attacked while he was reportedly in the nearby forest.
Following the incident, locals quickly evacuated the injured man to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tral. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment.
In a separate but related incident, a wild bear was sighted in the Check area of Awantipora. Wildlife officials, upon receiving the information, rushed to the spot and have since laid a trap in an effort to capture the animal and prevent any further danger to the public.
