SPO killed, his brother injured in militant attack in Budgam village: Police

Srinagar, Mar 26 : A special police officer (SPO) was killed, while his brother was injured after being attacked by militants at their residence in Chadbigh area of Budgam district in Saturday evening.

An official said that SPO Ishfaq Ahmad and his brother Umar Jan, a student, were fired upon by militants at their residence in Chadbugh village.

He said that soon after the incident, the duo was taken to a nearby hospital, where Ishfaq succumbed to his injuries.

The official said that area had been cordoned off and search operation was going on to nab the attackers. (KNS)
