Sopore Police Arrests 3 Absconders Including A Wanted in 11-Year-Old Heinous Case

Srinagar, October 25 : Police on Saturday said that in a continuous and focused crackdown against absconders and long-evading offenders, Sopore Police today apprehended four absconders, including three wanted in a heinous crime case pending since 2014.

In a handout to , the police said that a special team from Police Station Panzalla arrested Mohammad Sadiq Khan, son of Mohammad Yousuf Khan, Ajaz Ahmad Shah, son of Mohammad Mozim Shah, and Mohsin Ali Shah, son of Mohammad Mozim Shah all residents of Paranpilan, Uri—who were wanted in FIR No. 10/2014 U/S 363, 376, 109 RPC of Police Station Panzalla. The trio had been absconding for the last 11 years to evade the law.

In another operation, Police Post Warpora Sopore apprehended Shahzad Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Ramzan Lone, resident of Bunkoot Bandipora, wanted in FIR No. 241/2019 U/S 366, 376D, 344, 109 RPC of Police Station Sopore. He had been evading arrest since 2019.

After completing the necessary legal formalities, all the arrested absconders are being produced before the Hon’ble Courts of competent jurisdiction at Baramulla and Sopore.

Sopore Police’s ongoing crackdown against absconders and proclaimed offenders continues with renewed intensity. Several special teams have been constituted to trace and arrest long-evading accused wanted in heinous crimes.

Sopore Police reiterates its commitment that no one evading law will escape justice. Every absconder will be tracked, traced, and brought before the courts to uphold the rule of law and deliver justice to the victims, reads the statement.
