Police arrest an accused in the rape of a 13-year-old girl in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 29 : A minor girl has allegedly been raped in Srinagar, and the accused has also been arrested, according to the police.

The police tweeted that a girl of around 13 years old (name withheld) was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by Adil Shafi Hajam (21 years old) of Syed colony, Nishat.

They said that the case was registered and the team was constituted and the accused was arrested.

“A minor girl of around 13 years (name withheld) was kidnapped & sexually assaulted by one Adil Shafi Hajam (21 yrs) S/o Md Shafi Hajam R/o Syed colony,Nishat. FIR No 61/22 U/s 366, 376 IPC & 3/4 POCSO Act reg. at Rajbagh PS. A special team was constituted & the accused was arrested.” Tweeted Srinagar Police.
