PDP activist shot at in south Kashmir’s Kulgam, hospitalised

Unidentified gunmen on Sunday evening shot at and injured an activist of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zungalpora village of Kulgam district in south Kashmir.

According to a local news agency, masked gunmen fired upon Mohd Jamal (65) son of Mohd Ismail outside his home, leaving him injured.

Jamal, it said, was rushed to district hospital Kulgam for treatment.

Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kulgam Dr Muzafar Zargar told local news agency that Jamal has received multiple bullet injuries and after being treated upon at the facility he was referred to SKIMS Soura in critical condition.

A senior police officer said: “Police have taken the cognizance and investigations are on.”
