Only two persons from outside J&K purchased properties post Art-370 rollback

Srinagar: The Government of India (GOI) Tuesday informed the parliament that only two persons from outside Jammu and Kashmir have purchased properties in the Union Territory post abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.

The Minister of State (MoS) in the Ministry of Home Affairs Nityanand Rai was replying to the queries raised in the Parliament on Tuesday including whether it is true that many people from other States of the country have purchased and are also interested to buy properties in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370.The Minister, told the parliament that only two persons from outside Jammu and Kashmir have purchased properties post the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A on August 05 in the year 2019.

He said that as per the information provided by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, “two persons from outside J&K have purchased two properties in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir since August 2019.”He maintained that no hardship/impediments are being faced by the Government and people of other states while buying properties in J&K adding that “no such instance has been reported to the Government.”
