One Militant killed in Kulgam Gunfight, search on

Srinagar, Aug 12 : One unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with security forces along Jammu-Srinagar highway near Malpora Mirbazar area od South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

An official told local news agency  that a militant has been killed so far, in the encounter, however ,the complete search of the building in which  two Lashkar-e-Tobia militants had been hiding is yet to be done.

The gunbattle broke out when the militants opened fire on an BSF convoy, on its way to Srinagar, in Qazigund on Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Friday.

He said that the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a hunt for the militants.”The search operation turned into an encounter during which one militant was killed today.

Two Security forces personnel and two civilians were injured from militants fire. Taking all precautions for lesser collateral damage as target building is huge one: IGP Kashmir Vijay kumar has said. (KNS).
