Nocturnal IT Raid Underway at Former Srinagar Deputy Mayor’s Residence

Srinagar:The Income Tax Department conducted a late-night raid at the residence of Sheikh Mohammad Imran, former Deputy Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), on Saturday evening.

According to sources, the raid, related to allegations of tax evasion, began in the evening and was ongoing at the time of this report. IT officials were seen thoroughly searching the premises, but further details regarding the findings or the specific nature of the investigation have not been disclosed.

Sheikh Imran had recently contested the assembly elections from the Khanyar constituency in Srinagar. The Income Tax Department has yet to release an official statement about the raid.(KDC)
