Militant killed in Sopore gunfight
A militant was killed in a brief exchange of firing at Hatlangoo area of North Kashmir’s Sopore on Saturday afternoon.
A senior Police official confirmed the local news agency about the killing of one militant in a brief exchange of firing. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from his possession, the officer said.
However, the identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier, army’s 22 RR and SOG have launched a cordon-and-search operation at Hathlangoo village following specific information about the presence of militants inside a residential house.
Meanwhile, authorities suspended internet services in Sopore town as a precautionary measure in the wake of this search operation.
