Major administrative reshuffle in J&K; 49 officers transferred

Srinagar, October 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday ordered a major administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting 49 IAS and JKAS officers with immediate effect.

The orders were issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) under Government Order No. 1612-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated October 7, 2026.

Among the major changes, Shaleen Kabra, IAS, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Jal Shakti Department, has been given additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Revenue Department, relieving Kumar Rajeev Ranjan of the additional charge.

Dr Ashish Chandra Verma, IAS, has been posted as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Agriculture Production Department, while M. Raju, IAS, has been divested of the additional charge of Health and Medical Education Department and given additional charge of Hospitality & Protocol and Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction departments. In other significant appointments, R Alice Vaz, IAS, has been transferred as Commissioner/Secretary, Transport Department, while continuing as Administrative Secretary, Information Department and being given additional charge of Civil Aviation. Sarmad Hafeez, IAS, has been posted as Commissioner/Secretary, Youth Services and Sports Department.

Ramesh Kumar, IAS, has been posted as Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, with additional charge of Culture Department, while Naveen S L, IAS, has been posted as Commissioner of Enquiries, J&K. showOrder

At the divisional level, Vikas Kundal, IAS, has been posted as Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, while Majid Khalil Ahmad Drabu, IAS, has been posted as Inspector General of Registration, J&K. Rahul Yadav, IAS, has been appointed Administrative Secretary, Information Technology Department.

Among other key postings, Dr Devansh Yadav, IAS, has been transferred from Jammu Municipal Corporation and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, while Rakesh Minhas, IAS, has been appointed CEO, State Health Agency, J&K. Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, IAS, has been posted as Chairman, J&K Services Selection Board. showOrder

Basharat Qayoom, IAS, has been posted as Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, with additional charge of CEO, SPV for Srinagar City for implementation of the Smart City Project. Ayushi Sudan, IAS, has been appointed Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation.

The reshuffle also affects several deputy commissioners. Minga Sherpa has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, Jammu; Faz Lul Haseeb as Additional Secretary, Agriculture Production Department; Abhishek Sharma as Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara; Rupesh Kumar as Deputy Commissioner, Samba; Jatin Kishore as Deputy Commissioner, Budgam; and Shreya Singhal as Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal. showOrder

In Kashmir, Ananth Dwivedi, IAS, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, while Mahima Madan, IAS, has been posted as Additional District Development Commissioner, Anantnag. Pranjal J Hazaria has been posted as Director, J&K Archives, Archaeology and Museums, and Vivek Agarwal as Director, Employment, J&K, with additional charge of CEO, Mission YUVA.

The order also makes several JKAS-level changes. Kuldeep Krishan Sidha has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama; Charandeep Singh as Deputy Commissioner, Shopian; Rakesh Kumar as Special Secretary, Lok Bhawan; Sachin Jamwal as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua; Sushil Kesar as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Reasi; and Irfan Bahadur as Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Budgam. showOrder

The transfers and postings have been ordered with immediate effect. The order has been issued by order of the Lieutenant Governor.
