LG VISITS CULMINATION OF PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME AT PATTAN
Srinagar, 09 Apr 2022 : Indian Army and Civil Administration organised a programme at Pattan, Baramulla to celebrate successful fructification of “Personality Development Programme” popularly known as ‘Sahi Rasta’. The programme is an initiative of the Lt Governor Shri Manoj Sinha and Lt Gen DP Pandey, GOC Chinar Corps.
The aim of this program is to address the cognitive minds of the vulnerable youth through the ‘Kashmiriyat’. The tradition of ‘Kashmiriyat’ has always stood for peace and prosperity as an alternative to ‘terrorism’ and ‘cycle of violence’. The vision of the Lt Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, is to bring back the glory to the region and achieve the dream of ‘Naya Kashmir’ by ‘Breaking the cycle of violence’. So far, 100 volunteer youth have participated in various batches of this program, wherein they imbibed lessons about history and ethos of Kashmir. Various experts/ mentors guided and interacted with the youth during this programme.
Lt Gen DP Pandey, GOC Chinar Corps spoke about the youth of Kashmir and the importance of their contribution in making Kashmir, a peaceful and progressive region of the country. He said that the security forces are hopeful that more and more terrorists opt for surrender instead of living a life of violence and pain. He also urged the elders of the society to tell the truth about the propaganda being run by conflict entrepreneurs, who benefit with every misfortune that they inflict on the youth of the country. He praised the contribution of JKP, Civil Administration, civil society members and the Army for mentoring the Personality Development initiative. The GOC also praised the families in trusting the Army in guiding their children to a better tomorrow.
The Lt Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, who was the Chief Guest spoke at length on the youth of J&K. He observed that the focus of the UT administration has always been promoting various Govt initiatives to empower youth onto the path of progress and self reliance. He emphasised on the concept of ‘Kashmiriyat’, where unity in diversity is celebrated. He asked people to ponder upon why in the seven decades since Independence, all States/ UTs of Union of India had progressed, while Jammu and Kashmir lagged in development aspect. He said that the UT Administration stood for progress, transparency and obligation to make J&K, one of the most developed region of the country. The Lt Governor Shri Manoj Sinha assured that his administration is committed to address all issues pertaining to youth and continuous efforts are being undertaken to provide all possible opportunities as enshrined in various Government schemes and programmes. He also highlighted that the propaganda being run by the Anti-nationals ultimately leads to the suffering of the common man. He observed that while the propagandist have their children studying abroad, the children of common man are being incited to violence.
Lt Governor Shri Manoj Sinha while applauding the joint efforts of Civil Administration, JKP and Indian Army in making the initiative a success, said that his Administration will endeavor to increase the scope of the programme, so that more and more youth are reached out to facilitate them in leading a happy, peaceful and successful life. He also felicitated the mentors of the programs who were instrumental in guiding the youth towards the better lives and opportunities.
