Kulgam Police bust covert drug network, arrest supplier with brown sugar

Kulgam Police claimed to have busted a covert narcotics network by arresting two accused, including a supplier, and recovering contraband substances during investigation of an NDPS case.Police said one accused, identified as Sajad Ahmad Dar of Srinagar, was initially arrested near Kurigam railway crossing with approximately five grams of heroin-like substance.

Subsequent investigation led police to another accused, Firdous Ahmad Bhat of Ganderbal, from whose possession around 20 grams of brown sugar was recovered during a raid conducted after obtaining legal sanction from the court.Officials said the accused had allegedly been operating discreetly through intermediaries and indirect communication channels to evade detection.Further investigation is underway and more arrests are expected.
