J&K is the crown of India, not its shoe” : Dr.Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar, October 28 : Dr. Farooq Abdullah, former chief minister of the National Conference, said Friday that history would prove what Sheikh Abdullah and Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru contributed to the country. He said, “Those who attack the tallest leaders of the country need to remember that J&K is the crown of India, not just part of Hindustan.”.

When speaking to media  here in Srinagar, Dr Farooq disputed the comments made by BJP National General Secretary and Kashmir Affairs Incharge Tarun Chug regarding Kashmir leaders speaking double- one in Kashmir and one in New Delhi – and thus misleading Kashmiris for political gains.

“The sacrifices and contributions made by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru will be evidenced by history. It is impossible to forget the role and sacrifices made by Sheikh Abdullah in the history of Kashmir.” Dr Farooq said.

History will determine who is the real hero and who harmed the country’s fabric. “Pandit Nehru stayed Prime Minister for 17 years. We imported everything from outside countries, even pins. Gradually, India became an atomic power. An extensive industrialization network was established. “Time will decide who built and devastated the country,” he added.

Dr Farooq responded to BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chug, by saying, “We are not slaves. We belong to Hindustan. J&K is India’s crown, not its shoe”.
