IT dept raids private offices of Dy Mayor SMC Sheikh Imran

Days after the sleuths of anti-corruption bureau conducted raids at J&K Bank headquarters, Income Tax department on Tuesday conducted a raid at the private office of deputy Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation at Bohri Kadal area of Downtown and Sangarmal Shopping Complex. An official said that a team of officers visited the private offices of deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran and were scrutinizing the documents.

The official said that a separate raid was also conducted at deputy Mayor’s private office at Nowgam.

“The search is going on to scrutinize the documents,” the official said. Imran recently joined Sajad Lone lead People’s Conference who he had long accused of being in cohort wit BJP. His bank dealings have created a long controversies.
