Gunfight rages in Hathlangu Sopore, internet suspended

A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces on Saturday afternoon in the Hathlangoo village of Sopore in Baramulla district. Forces had sealed the area following specific input about the presence of militants in the area. Police sources said that contact has been made and exchange of fire between the two sides is raging.  The operation is conducted by a joint team of Army’s 22 RR, 179 BN CRPF and SOG Sopore. Meanwhile, internet has been snapped in the Sopore town in the wake of the encounter. Further details awaited.
