Gunfight erupts in Shopian orchards
Shopian: Exchange of gunfire erupted between militants and security forces in orchards of Padguchi area of Imam Sahib in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday. According to sources , a brief exchange of gunfire in the area left two millitants dead in the encounter .The area remains under tight cordon and is being sanitized according to the initial reports , however, there was no official confirmation of deaths, so far. The operation was conducted by a joint of army’s 44RR and SOG, and sources claimed that they had ‘received credible inputs of militants hiding in the orchards’. Search operation in the area was going on when last reports came in.
