Engineer Rashid Expected in Srinagar Tomorrow Morning for Father’s Funeral

Jailed Member of Parliament from Baramulla, Engineer Rashid, is expected to arrive at Srinagar Airport on Tuesday morning to participate in the Nimaz-e-Jinazah of his father, Mohammad Khazir Sheikh, a veteran teacher and respected social figure from north Kashmir’s Handwara area.

According to Awami Itihaad Party spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, the funeral prayers will be offered at 2 PM at the family’s ancestral village, Mawar Payeen, in Tehsil Qalamabad of Handwara.

The party described the demise of Mohammad Khazir Sheikh as a significant loss and said his passing has saddened people across Jammu and Kashmir.

Engineer Rashid is scheduled to travel directly from Srinagar Airport to his native village to take part in the funeral rites.

The Awami Itihaad Party also appealed to supporters and well-wishers to maintain discipline and dignity during the funeral proceedings while praying for the departed soul.

“Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Rajioon. May Almighty Allah grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous,” the party spokesperson said.(KNS)
