DDC Phase VI: 23.93% turn out recorded in Anantnag

Anantnag: Under phase VI, polling concluded peacefully today for Breng and Achabal DDC seats, Panch and Sarpanch vacancies in these blocks, and ULB vacancies in Achabal Municipal Committee. A cumulative turnout of 43.29% was recorded for this Phase and 23.93% for DDC elections in the District.

Pertinently, a total of 17 candidates, 08 for Breng and 09 for Achabal DDC seats were in the fray for this Phase.

For DDC seat Breng, 11758 votes were polled out of a total electorate of 35012 which gives a %age of 29.86, and for DDC seat Achabal, 7258 votes were polled out of a total electorate of 44436 which gives a %age of 16.33.

Polling for Bye-elections for Panch & Sarpanch vacancies in these blocks and for vacancies in Municipal Committee Achabal was also held.
