Budgam woman did not commit suicide ,but was murdered:Family alleges
The woman identified as Yasmeen Akhtar daughter of Mohammed Ramzan who died yesterday in mysterious conditions ,due to consumption of poison in Kralpora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam’s district on Tuesday was poisoned to death by in-laws ,alledged the family of deceased woman. …The family members and relatives of Akhtar blocked the Charar-i-sharief – Srinagar road at Kralpora and staged a protest blaming that Akhtar was murdered by her in-laws . The family demanded justice and urged authorities to initiate an inquiry and file an FIR into the case.
The family said ,“It is a baseless story that Yasmeena died after committing suicide. She was poisoned to death by her in-laws,” a family member was quoted as having said by a local newsgathering agency
Yasmeena, according to her family members, was into the fourth month of her pregnancy.
As per her family, she died at her husband’s residence at Charisharief during the intervening night of May 13 and 14. She was declared brought dead by the doctors at SMHS hospital in Srinagar.
“The in-laws including the husband of the deceased woman are giving different versions with regard to her death,” said a protester, alleging that since Yasmeena’s wedding last year she was being harassed by her in-laws.The family said that they have approached police station concerned with regard to the murder and urged police to file an FIR and initiate an inquiry into it.
