Budgam police seized 05 tippers, arrested 05 persons for illegal excavation and transportation of minerals

Budgam, 22nd Aug-22 : Today during the wee hours, while patrolling police parties of PS Beerwah & PS Chadoora sezied 05 tippers loaded with illegally extracted sand/soil at Charangam Beerwah and Gowharpora Chadoora. The accused drivers were arrested & 05 tippers with registration numbers JK01M 5014, JK01J 1820,JK01L 4456, JK04G 9677,JK02CD 3297 seized on the spot.The arrested drivers were subsequently identified as:-
01) Manzoor Ahmed Joo son of Mohammad Qasim Joo resident of Khomeni Budgam,02) Altaf Hussain Molvi son of Ali Mohammad Molvi 03) Bashir Ahmed Malla Son of Ghulam Haider Malla residents of Pallar Budgam 04) Zahoor Ahmed Wani Son of Abdul Ahad Wani & 05) Ajaz Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad residents of Gowharpora Chadoora

Case FIR numbers 149/2022 and 117/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Stations Beerwah & Chadoora respectively and investigation set into motion.

Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
