Budgam Police Arrests Drug Peddler; Contraband and Vehicle Seized

Budgam, October 29 : Continuing its drive against the drug menace, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances in the Magam area.

A police party from Police Station Magam, led by ASI Mohd Altaf, established a checkpoint at Batpora Crossing, where a vehicle (A-Star) bearing registration number JK05B-4705 was intercepted. During the search, charas-like substance was recovered from the vehicle’s dashboard.

The driver, identified as Irfan Ahmad Dar, son of Zahoor Ahmad Dar, resident of Dar Mohallah, Pati Shalbugh, Ganderbal, was arrested on the spot. The vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also seized.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 176/2025 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Magam, and investigation is in progress.
