“Azi Tae Fazi Hund Izzat”: Sakina Itoo Turns BJP’s Remarks on Kashmiri Women Into Political Taunt at Kulgam Rally

KULGAM, AUGUST 8: Jammu and Kashmir Minister Sakina Itoo on Saturday turned the BJP’s remarks concerning Kashmiri women into a political counterattack, invoking the slogan “Azi Tae Fazi Hund Izzat” during a rally in Kulgam.

Addressing the gathering, Itoo also raised the Article 370 issue, using the slogan to underline what she described as the importance of the dignity, identity and honour of Kashmiri women.

Her remarks appeared to be aimed at BJP leaders over recent political statements concerning women from Jammu and Kashmir, turning the issue into a sharp political exchange at the public gathering.

The minister’s reference to Article 370 also brought the politically sensitive issue back into the spotlight, with the slogan drawing a response from supporters attending the rally.

The development comes amid continued political exchanges between the National Conference-led Jammu and Kashmir Government and the BJP over issues including Article 370, the political identity of Jammu and Kashmir and the rights and dignity of its people.(KNC)
