Forces lay siege following search operation in Shopian village in south Kashmir

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation at a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday morning.A police official said that a joint team of army, SOG and Central Reserved Police Force personnel laid a seige around the vast orchards in Heff Shirmal village and began a search operation.

“The operation was launched following the inputs about the presence of militants in the area”, the official said.

However , the operation was going on when this report was filed.
