110 BN CRPF in Lethpora Pampore celebrates 32nd Raising Day

Pulwama: The 110 BN CRPF in Lethpora area of Pampore in Pulwama celebrated 32nd Raising day on Friday. The Unit was raised on 8th April 1991 at Pallipuram, Kerala, & is deployed at Lethpora, Pulwama in South Kashmir (J&K) since 2007.

As per a CRPF official, the historic celebration of the day begun with paying homage to the brave martyrs of the Unit who made supreme sacrifices for the cause of the nation.

On the occasion, Yogesh Purohit, Commandant-110 Bn greeted the Officers, Subordinate Officers, Jawans and their families on the occasion through a special Sainik Sammelan.

He highlighted the contributions made by the Unit for the service to the state and country, & exhorted the officers and men to continue to exhibit high degree of operational professionalism and give their best for the nation.

The celebration of 32nd Raising Day started from 1st April with a grand Mela in which stalls of various games and foods were set-up by Unit personnel.

Students of nearby schools, officers of JKP & other civil organisations and locals of nearby villages were also invited.

During the week, Officers and men carried out Mega tree plantation drive and huge free medical camp in Lethpora for needy locals and provided free health check-up & medicines.

Also, various recreational activities and inter coy sports competitions like badminton, volley ball, football, table tennis, tug of war and a dog show were organised during the course of celebration.

The culmination of the Raising Day was marked with a vibrant and colourful cultural programme depicting a glance of mini India in which DIG CRPF South Kashmir range was the chief guest and officials from nearby CRPF units, Army units, SSP Awantipura with JKP officials and Administrative officers of the area were also present besides the local residents.

During the programme the jawans of the Unit presented splendid cultural performances from various parts of the country which was given huge praise and applauds by all those who were present there. It was followed by a barakhana.

All programme were organised keeping in mind all guidelines and protocols of Covid-19 Pandemic and securities.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Yogesh Purohit, Commandant stated that the Unit will continue to serve the nation with full dedication, devotion, zeal and commitment in fighting the anti national elements and will also support the local population by carrying out humanitarian activities through various civic action and community outreach programmes.

He appealed to the officers, SOs and jawans to work hard and keep the flag of the CRPF and Nation high.
