Workshop on drug de-addiction held in GDC Tral

Tral: With the motive to fight against drug abuse, a drug de-addiction workshop was held in Govt Degree College Tral in South Kashmir on Saturday.

The programme started in the morning at 11 AM, and continued for full day, which was attended by a large number of students and staff members of the college.

The workshop was organised in collaboration with district social welfare department, and was conducted at college’s main auditorium.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary (IAS) was the Chief Guest, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Tral Shabir Ahmad Raina and Senior Superintendent of Police Awantipora, Mohammad Yousuf were also present, besides the officials of social welfare.

As per officials, the programme was conducted with the motive to make students and others aware about the ill effects of drug abuse.

Talking to media, Principal of the college, Prof. Mohammad Farooq Mir has said that the programme was conducted with the aim to keep the students away from drugs.

He said that through 2000 students enrolled in the college, the positive messages given in the programme, will reach to 2000 families.
