Srinagar: In a major initiative aimed at boosting employment opportunities for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, Desh Bhagat University, Punjab, in collaboration with the Nations Development Association (NDA), Cluster University Srinagar, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Srinagar, and MY Bharat J&K under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, will organise the 77th State-Level Mega Job Fair 2026 on July 28 at Amar Singh College, Srinagar.

The event is expected to be one of the largest employment drives ever organised in Jammu & Kashmir and will be graced by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir as the Chief Guest, reaffirming the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, skill development, and employment generation.

The organisers described the initiative as a landmark collaboration that goes beyond the traditional role of a university by connecting aspiring job seekers directly with leading employers. The Mega Job Fair reflects Desh Bhagat University’s philosophy that higher educational institutions must not only impart quality education but also facilitate meaningful career opportunities and enhance the employability of students.

More than 50 leading national and multinational companies are expected to participate, collectively offering over 10,000 employment opportunities across diverse sectors, including banking, information technology, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, insurance, hospitality, telecommunications, education, pharmaceuticals, consulting, electric vehicles, e-commerce, and overseas recruitment.

For countless families in the Valley, Desh Bhagat University is not merely an educational institution—it is a second home,” he said.

Prof. Sadawarti added that the Mega Job Fair represents the university’s commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the youth by bringing reputed employers directly to Kashmir rather than compelling students to travel across the country in search of employment.

“This Mega Job Fair is our contribution towards inclusive growth, industry-academia collaboration, and employment generation. It is being organised as part of Desh Bhagat University’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives dedicated to empowering youth and strengthening the employment ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir,” he said.

Welcoming the initiative, Prof. Mohammad Mobin, Vice Chancellor of Cluster University Srinagar, described the event as a historic opportunity for the youth of Kashmir.

He said the Mega Job Fair would provide thousands of job seekers with direct access to leading employers from across India, enabling them to secure meaningful employment and build successful careers without leaving the region.

Prof. Mobin appreciated the collaborative efforts of Desh Bhagat University, the Nations Development Association (NDA), NIELIT Srinagar, and MY Bharat J&K, expressing confidence that such partnerships would significantly strengthen the employment ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir and contribute to the region’s socio-economic development.

The organisers said the event has been carefully designed as a comprehensive employment platform featuring on-the-spot interviews, direct interactions with recruiters, career counselling sessions, industry networking opportunities, and placement guidance. Thousands of students and job seekers from universities, colleges, technical institutions, and professional institutes across Jammu & Kashmir are expected to participate.

They emphasised that the initiative symbolises the collective commitment of all partner organisations to bridge the gap between education and employment while contributing to sustainable socio-economic development in the Union Territory.

The 77th State-Level Mega Job Fair 2026 is expected to emerge as a significant milestone in the employment landscape of Jammu & Kashmir, further reinforcing Desh Bhagat University’s longstanding contribution to the region through quality education, skill development, industry partnerships, and career-oriented initiatives.
