Vacant Chief Engineer Post in South Kashmir Impacts Locals
The post of Chief Engineer in the Roads and Buildings Department for South Kashmir has been vacant for three months, creating significant challenges for public services and developmental projects in the region.
Key infrastructure projects, including road construction, repair, and maintenance, have either stalled or slowed down, causing inconvenience to residents and commuters. Vital roadworks connecting remote areas to urban centers remain incomplete, disrupting daily life and local economies.
With the onset of winter, the situation is particularly alarming as South Kashmir often experiences heavy snowfall and landslides, necessitating timely road maintenance to ensure safety and connectivity.
The absence of a dedicated chief engineer has also delayed the planning and execution of critical ongoing and future projects, further aggravating the difficulties faced by the local population. (KNS)
