Two Visually Impaired Girls Score 1st Division in Class 12th in Anantnag

Khusboo Jan and Mehvish Manzoor overcome blindness and hardship to achieve over 70% in JKBOSE exams, inspiring many with their determination.

Anantnag: In a remarkable display of grit and perseverance, two blind girls, Khusboo Jan and Mehvish Manzoor from Govt HSS Gurdraman Kokernag, have achieved a remarkable score of 364 out of 500 marks (72.8%) and 348 out of 500 marks (69.6%) in Class 12th, facing hardships to get these scores.

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) on Wednesday announced the results of the Class 12th annual exams with a pass percentage of 74.8 percent.

According to official figures, a total of 1,03,308 students from across Jammu and Kashmir appeared for the exams, out of which 77,311 have successfully qualified.

The girls have outshined the boys in the Class 12th examination.

The pass percentage for boys has been recorded at 71.95 percent, while the pass percentage for girls stands at 77.72 percent.

From battling blindness to handling financial crisis, Khusboo and Mehvish have seen it all, but they never gave up. “Our parents have been our inspiration,” they said while talking to the Arising State.
