SRINAGAR, April 14: In a significant move aimed at safeguarding women in public spaces, the Srinagar Police has bolstered its commitment to curbing crimes against women by establishing Women Helpdesks in police stations and launching a Mobile Women Safety Squad.
These dedicated units are tasked with ensuring the safety of girls and women, particularly in areas around educational institutions, marketplaces, and other vulnerable locations. The initiative aims to proactively prevent and address incidents of harassment, eve-teasing, bullying, and unsolicited comments in real-time.
