Srinagar Police crackdown on ATM fraudster
The Srinagar Police have arrested a notorious ATM fraudster who was targeting elderly citizens in Bemina. The accused, identified as Irfan Latif Mir, son of Abdul Latif Mir, a resident of Sanzipora Mawar, Handwara, Kupwara, has been involved in multiple incidents of ATM fraud.The accused would approach victims at ATMs, offering assistance with withdrawals. He would then swap their ATM cards with another card, memorize their PIN, and later withdraw their savings.A case, FIR No. 106/2025, has been registered against the accused under sections 303(2), 324(4), and 62 BNS. Further investigation is underway.The Srinagar Police urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
