Tral, 24 Jan: Scores of youth belonging to scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST) and other backward class (OBC) categories on Sunday staged a silent protest in Tral area of South Kashmir, demanding filling up of ‘backlog’ vacancies.
The protesting youth assembled near Dilnag Park in uptown Tral against what they alleged the UT government’s inability to fill the ‘1.4 lac’ backlog vacant posts belonging to their communities.
Shabir Mastana Trali, ‘District President’ Pulwama for National Students and Youth Front was leading the protest, who said that ‘filling up of all backlog vacant posts’ should immediately be taken into consideration by the concerned authorities.
The protesters sought immediate intervention of LT. Governor & demanded that all the backlog vacancies should be fulfilled at the earliest.
It’s pertinent to mention here that protesting youth came from different areas of Tral and were carrying placards in support of their demand.
