Revenue, Excise department and Police destroy poppy cultivation in Awantipora

Awantipora, May 24: While continuing the special drive against drugs, Revenue, Excise department & Awantipora police destroyed illegal poppy cultivation on Monday in several areas.

The drive was specifically launched at Naibugh, Shairabad, Nowdal, & Aligund areas of PD Awantipora.

The teams destroyed the poppy cultivation at several spots in the said areas, which were spread over more than 10 Kanals of land.

Reports said that general public of the area have appreciated the action of Police Awantipora.

One of the officials earlier said that “persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt strictly under law.”
