Police denies any firing incident in Qazigund

Police on Monday refuted news about a militant attack in the Dalwach area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

A senior Police officer told a local news agency that 03 firing-like sounds were heard near Dalwach Qazigund where police and CRPF were deployed. After a thorough investigation it was determined that the sounds came from the silencer of a Maruti Van which was crossing the Naka and that no firing had taken place, the officer said.

The senior Police officer further said that public is requested not to propagate rumors of firing on Naka party as no such incident has occurred.
