Newly elected councilors in Sopore administered oath

Sopore, Jan 02: Five women among 13 newly elected Municipal Corporators of Municipal Council Sopore were administered the oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony held at Dak Banglow Sopore on Saturday.

The oath was administered by ADDC Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf and Executive officer Municipal council Sopore and total 13 recently elected members including two women from the town took oath of office.

SHO Sopore Azim Khan and other officials from various departments of Sopore were present during the oath ceremony.

In Sopore town five candidates have won uncontested while the other eight Candidates won by contesting elections in the last month. Out of 21 municipal wards in Sopore town 08 have been elected uncontested in the 2018 ULB elections, however, 13 wards remain vacant to date.
