Minor Girl Recovered, Accused Arrested in Kidnapping Case by Anantnag Police
Anantnag, 23 July :Anantnag Police have successfully traced and recovered a 13-year-old minor girl who had gone missing from the Dooru area on 19th July 2025. In a swift and coordinated operation, the police apprehended the accused and reunited the girl with her family, underscoring their commitment to child safety and prompt action.
Following initial verification of facts, FIR No. 55/2025 was registered under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Dooru, and a detailed investigation was immediately launched.
During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the girl had been kidnapped by a labourer who had been working in the Dooru area for the past three months, engaged in the installation of electric poles.
A dedicated team was constituted under the direct supervision of SDPO Dooru and SHO Dooru. The team carried out extensive and sustained searches across several locations including Srinagar, Sopore, and Handwara.
With critical technical assistance provided by the District Telecom Team Anantnag, the accused was tracked and apprehended from the Handwara area on 22nd July 2025. The minor girl was recovered safely alongside the accused, and both were brought back to Police Station Dooru on the same day.
The entire operation was completed within two days, highlighting the professionalism, urgency, and teamwork demonstrated by the by the personnel involved.
