Licences of five medical shops suspended in Kanelwan Bijbehara

Anantnag: A team of Drug Control Officers under the direct supervision of the Assistant Drug Controller, Anantang conducted numerous inspections of chemist establishments in various areas of Bijbehara Anantang to ensure compliance to regulatory standards under Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

During the inspection, operation of five (5)medical shops were disallowed and suspended for violating non- maintenance record provisio under Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and Rules thereunder. The medical shops whose locences were suspended include Rather pharmacy Kanelwan, Friends pharmacy Kanelwan, Naikoo medical store Kanelwan, wani chemists and Driggists Kanelwan, care N cure pharmacy Kanelwan.

The inspection team also imparted awareness to chemists regarding the importance of maintaining proper records and warned them to issue cash memo’s and to patients for purchases without fail.

The Drug Control Department is committed to ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in Anantnag’s chemist estabilishments.
