Srinagar | June 20, 2025: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a detailed forecast for Jammu & Kashmir, predicting a transition from heatwave conditions to intermittent rainfall across several regions over the coming days.

According to the MeT department, June 20 is expected to remain generally hot and dry, with severe heatwave conditions likely at isolated locations. However, a brief spell of rain or thundershowers may occur in some areas.

The weather is likely to shift significantly starting June 21, as the forecast indicates generally cloudy skies with intermittent rain or thundershowers at many places. The 21st and 22nd may witness intense showers in isolated areas, raising concerns over flash flooding and local disruptions.

From June 23 to 24, brief spells of rain or thundershowers are expected at scattered locations, while June 25 to 27 may bring light to moderate rainfall across many parts of the Union Territory. The wet spell is likely to continue into June 28 to 30, with the possibility of intermittent rain and thundershowers at scattered places.

⚠️ Advisory Issued for Farmers and General Public

  • Farmers have been advised to complete all farming operations before June 20 due to the likelihood of rainfall afterward.

  • There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall, especially in parts of the Jammu Division from June 21-22 and June 25-27.

  • Authorities have also warned of flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas.

People are advised to stay updated on daily forecasts and take necessary precautions, especially those travelling on hilly terrain or near riverbanks.
