Gusty Winds Lash Kashmir; Damage Reported
Srinagar, 18 May : Strong winds hit Kashmir on Sunday evening, causing extensive damage across several places in the Kashmir Valley.
Reports said that trees and branches were uprooted, and rooftops, houses, and other infrastructure were significantly impacted.
Strong winds damaged the rooftop of a mosque in Baderkoot village of Tangmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. There are also reports of extensive damages to several shops at main market in Tangmarg
Locals said that a portion of the roof was blown off by the gusty winds, creating panic in the area.However, no injuries were reported.
Similarly, the Wagoora–Kreeri Road is currently blocked near Block Colony, Wagoora, after a poplar tree fell due to strong gusty winds.
There are also reports that several structures were partially damaged in Srinagar due to the strong winds.(KNS)
