Encounter rages in South Kashmir

Awantipora: An encounter started between militants and forces in Noorpora village of Awantipora tehsil in Pulwama district on Monday evening.

Sources said that a gunfight was started after a joint team of police, army and CRPF laid a cordon and search operation in the said village.

They said that “as the forces were searching the area to trace the militants, the gunfight started suddenly with heavy firing going on in both the sides.”

Gunfight was going on when this report was filed in.
