Budgam Villages in Distress: Erratic Power Supply Plagues Jawalpora, Sandipora, Gojra, Other Villages

Jammu, Dec 01: Residents of Jawal Pora, Sandipora, Gojra, Shago Pora, Banday Bagh, and adjoining villages are grappling with severe electricity issues, with some areas experiencing complete blackouts. The erratic power supply, averaging only three hours in 24 hours, has left the community in distress.

According to the reports ,local residents have expressed frustration over the lack of attention from the authorities. “We are living in darkness. It’s impossible to manage daily tasks, especially with winter approaching,” said a resident of Sandipora.

The power outages have disrupted education, with students struggling to prepare for exams. Small businesses reliant on electricity have also suffered significant losses, further impacting the local economy.

Despite repeated appeals to the electricity department, the situation remains unresolved. “We’ve raised complaints multiple times, but there has been no significant improvement. This neglect is unacceptable,” stated a community elder from Gojra.

Residents are demanding immediate intervention from the authorities to restore consistent electricity supply. They have warned of protests and escalations if their grievances are not addressed promptly.

Efforts to contact the electricity department for comments have been unsuccessful.
