Budgam Police Arrests Drug Peddler; Contraband Recovered

Budgam, 18 July 2025: In a continued drive against drug trafficking, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances in the Chadoora area.

A Naka checking party from Police Station Chadoora, led by HC Ab Qayoom intercepted a suspicious individual carrying a polythene bag in Repora village. The person attempted to flee but was apprehended by the Police party. He was identified as Bashir Ahmed Ganie, son of Ghulam Qadir Ganie, resident of Wagam, Chadoora.

Upon search, 15 sticks of charas-like substance weighing approximately 307 grams wrapped in corn husk were recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 133/2025 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chadoora. Further investigation is underway.
